FREQUENTLY ASKED  QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Below you will find answers to our most frequently asked questions. However, if you have additional questions please call us at any time and we will be happy to help you.

Martial arts were developed thousands of years ago as a form of self-defence. Karate was originated in Japan, Kung Fu was come from China, and Taekwondo is native to Korea. In terms of techniques, Taekwondo emphasizes kicks more than other martial arts, making it ideal for improving your child’s balance, flexibility and endurance.

Our experience has shown that children from 4 years above will be able to take the greatest advantage from Taekwondo classes.

Taekwondo is for both boys and girls. Our classes have a good mix of both boys and girls, too. So, if you’re worried about your girl being alone in a group of boys, wipe that worry from your mind.
Absolutely not! Taekwondo is about peace, balance & harmony. It’s about happiness and fulfilment. The Self-Defense techniques you learn help you become flexible and strong. They help you become confident and proud. Taekwondo students are expected to be humble, courteous, respectful, and careful about when and where they practice their skills. We will continually educate your child that Taekwondo is a form of exercise and self-improvement, not a tool for bullying. The guiding principles of Taekwondo help you diffuse situations before violence becomes a part of them.
Taekwondo is safe and fun for students of all ages and physical abilities. Classes are taught by expert instructors as students are shown techniques in a step-by-step manner at their own pace. A thorough stretching routine, matted flooring and protective safety equipments are all part of our commitment to ensuring student safety.
Yes of course. Why Not! In fact, many people use martial arts as a way to get in good shape. They come to us out of shape, and quickly become athletic and limber. In addition, the belt system used in Taekwondo allows all students to train at their own pace and improve their physical condition gradually.
Practice is generally conducted barefoot, and a taekwondo uniform is required after your first week of training. Until you have a uniform, comfortable workout clothes are sufficient.
Yes! Prospective members are encouraged to watch or try out a class or two. However, please contact us in advance.
It is not mandatory. It totally depends upon you whether your child will take part in competitions or not.
Students are encouraged to take part in competitions. Those students who are interested to compete in State/National/International level competitions, they will be coached to achieve their goals and to excel at local, national and international tournaments.

We highly recommend you go to a school and watch a class. It is very important to see what the school is teaching. Make sure that there is structure, discipline, and that they are teaching respect. Also look to see if the school is clean and providing a safe environment. We also recommend sitting down with an instructor to ask questions. Make sure the Instructors are professionally certified in Taekwondo from an authorized body.

Do not choose a school simply because it’s close by.
